In order to lead a healthy lifestyle, what equipment do we need, if any?

The simple answer is that in order to eat healthy and exercise, you really don’t need any equipment whatsoever!
The healthiest foods on earth are fresh fruits and vegetables, which you can eat as-is: simply peel and cut when needed.
To move your body, you can simply walk, run, or practice yoga at home. You don’t have to go to the gym or buy any fitness equipment.
So please, don’t let the lack of equipment stop you!

BUT — if you would like to take your healthy lifestyle to the next level, make delicious shakes and juices, steam your food instead of cooking it, or practice yoga on a yoga mat — you are welcome to use the list below, which represents the equipment I use at home. Again, everything on the list is optional and personally recommended by me. You don’t have to buy everything at once (unless you have the budget for it and want to create a strong commitment!).

You can start with the basics, such as a strong blender and a steamer — or whatever feels most important to you.
I didn’t mention the obvious items like pots and plates. This list includes only the equipment that helps you walk the extra mile and create a better experience with healthy food.

For food:

  • Strong blender (such as Vitamix): my greatest helper in the kitchen! I use it daily for shakes, cold soups, dressings, and more.
  • Small hand blender: great for blending soups and veggie dishes after cooking them to get a smooth texture.
  • Shakes blender (such as Magic Bullet): if, for any reason, you can’t buy a strong blender, a smaller blender can help you make shakes from soft fruits like bananas and strawberries.
  • Wooden reusable chopsticks: I found that eating with chopsticks forces me to take smaller bites and helps me eat more slowly (not for every dish, of course, but they are great for salads!).
  • Food processor
  • Cold-pressed juicer
  • Steamer
  • Pressure cooker
  • Wooden cutting board
  • Mason jars for storing your juices

For sport:

  • Yoga mat
  • Yoga blocks
  • Dumbbells
  • Pilates ring
  • Fitness band
  • Yoga strap
  • Pilates ball
