Little delicious chick peas snack



When you feel like having a little protein boost, this is the perfect replacement for store-bought protein bars — which are often overly sweet and full of preservatives and artificial sweeteners.
This snack is simple, clean, and actually healthy!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried chickpeas (or use canned for a faster version)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste (I personally add A LOT — see picture!)

Instructions

  1. Soak the chickpeas
  • Place the dried chickpeas in a bowl and cover with filtered water.
  • Soak overnight (at least 8 hours).
  • If using canned chickpeas, skip to step 3.
  1. Cook the chickpeas (if using dried)
  • Drain the soaking water.
  • Place the chickpeas in a pot and cover with fresh filtered water.
  • Boil and cook until soft — this may take a few hours depending on the chickpeas.
  1. Season
  • Drain the chickpeas.
  • Sprinkle generously with salt and black pepper.
  • Mix well.
